Description
Frullania trianae (also called Trianae Liverwort, among many other common names) is a small, perennial, leafy liverwort. It is found in the temperate regions of South America, including Chile, Argentina, and Peru. It grows in damp, shady areas, such as moist forests, and is often found in the crevices of rocks.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
Frullania trianae has small, yellow-green flowers, with a single seed in each capsule. The seedlings are small and have a single leaf.
Cultivation and Propagation
Frullania trianae can be propagated by spores or vegetative fragments. Cultivation is best done in a moist, shaded environment with plenty of organic matter in the soil. The plant prefers temperatures between 10-20°C and should be kept moist but not wet.
