Description

Phaseolus scabrellus (also called black-eyed pea, among many other common names) is a species of bean native to Central and South America. It is an annual herbaceous plant, growing to a height of 1-2 m. The leaves are pinnate, with 3-7 leaflets. The flowers are white or purple, and the pods are straight, containing 4-6 seeds. It is found in humid and tropical areas.
