Description

Macrolobium limbatum (also called 'White Ironwood', among many other common names) is a small to medium-sized tree native to Central and South America. It grows to a height of 10-20 meters and has a trunk diameter of up to 30 cm. It is found in tropical and subtropical dry forests, tropical and subtropical moist lowland forests, and tropical and subtropical moist montane forests.

Uses & Benefits

Macrolobium limbatum is used as a source of firewood and timber, as an ornamental plant, and as a shade tree. It is also used for soil stabilization, erosion control, and as a windbreak.
