Description
Cercis occidentalis (also called Western redbud, among many other common names) is a species of flowering tree in the pea family, Fabaceae. It is native to western North America, from British Columbia south to northern California and east to Montana and Wyoming. It typically grows in dry woodlands, but is also found in other habitats such as rocky slopes and open woodlands.
