Description

Cercis canadensis (also called Eastern redbud, among many other common names) is a species of flowering tree in the pea family, Fabaceae. It is native to eastern North America, from southern Ontario and Quebec south to northern Florida and eastern Texas. It typically grows in moist woodlands, but is also found in other habitats such as dry woodlands and rocky slopes.
