Description
Acacia pedina (also called Pedin Acacia, among many other common names) is a shrub or small tree that grows up to 5 m tall. It is native to Australia, where it is found in open woodlands and along watercourses. It prefers moist, well-drained soils and full sun.
Uses & Benefits
Acacia pedina is used as an ornamental plant in gardens and parks. It can also be used as a windbreak and for soil stabilization.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
Acacia pedina has yellow flowers that are globular in shape. The seeds are small and black, and the seedlings have small, oval-shaped leaves.
Cultivation and Propagation
Acacia pedina is a fast-growing, evergreen shrub or small tree. It can be propagated from seed or cuttings. Seeds should be sown in a well-drained soil mix in a warm, sunny location. Cuttings should be taken from semi-hardwood stems and placed in a warm, humid environment until they have rooted. Once rooted, the cuttings can be transplanted into a pot or garden bed.
