Description
Acalypha koraensis (also called Kora Acalypha, among many other common names) is a species of flowering shrub native to Indonesia. It typically grows to a height of 1–2 m, with small, glossy, dark green leaves and small, white flowers. It is found in a variety of habitats, including tropical and subtropical forests, savannas, and scrublands.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
The flower of Acalypha koraensis is white and has five petals. The seed is small, round and black. The seedlings are thin and have long, narrow leaves.
Cultivation and Propagation
Acalypha koraensis is a small, evergreen shrub that grows up to 3 m tall. It is native to tropical Central and South America. It can be propagated from cuttings or by seed. Cuttings should be taken from semi-hardwood branches and planted in a well-drained soil mix. Seeds should be sown in a well-drained soil mix and kept moist until germination occurs. Once established, Acalypha koraensis requires little maintenance and is fairly drought tolerant.
