Description

Acalypha deamii (also called Deam's copperleaf, among many other common names) is a small shrub native to the Caribbean, Central America, and South America. It is a perennial evergreen shrub that grows up to 1.5 m in height. It has ovate to oblong-ovate leaves, which are usually green but may be reddish or purplish. The flowers are small and inconspicuous, and the fruit is a small capsule containing several seeds. It is found in open areas, such as roadsides, pastures, and disturbed areas.
