Description
Erythroxylum sinense (also called Sinense coca, among many other common names) is a species of shrub or small tree in the family Erythroxylaceae. It is native to the Seychelles and the Mascarene Islands, where it grows in coastal habitats, such as beaches, rocky shores, and cliffs.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
The flower of Erythroxylum sinense is small and white, with a yellow center. The seed is a small, round, black seed, and the seedlings are small and light green.
Cultivation and Propagation
Erythroxylum sinense can be propagated by seed or cuttings. Seeds should be sown in a well-drained, light soil mix. Cuttings should be taken from the current season's growth and rooted in a light soil mix. Both methods should be kept moist and in a warm, humid environment.
