Description
Eriocaulon carajense (also called Carajas Pipewort, among many other common names) is a small, perennial herbaceous plant native to Brazil. It grows in moist, shady areas, such as along streams, in forests, and in wet meadows.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
The flower of Eriocaulon carajense is a small, white, five-petaled flower. The seed is a small, black, flattened and oval-shaped seed. The seedlings are small and have a single pair of leaves.
Cultivation and Propagation
Eriocaulon carajense is a perennial herb that can be propagated by seed or division. It prefers a moist, well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade and can tolerate temperatures down to -5°C (23°F). It is drought tolerant and will not tolerate waterlogged soils.
