Encalypta armata (also called Bristle-moss, among many other common names) is a species of moss in the family Encalyptaceae. It is a small moss with a yellow-green color, and is found in the Northern Hemisphere. It is commonly found in moist, shady habitats, such as in forests, woodlands, and on the banks of streams and rivers.

The flower of Encalypta armata is small and white with a yellow center. The seed is a small, dark brown, round capsule. The seedlings are small, green, and have a single cotyledon.
