Description
Elaeocarpus rubidus (also called Reddish Elaeocarpus, among many other common names) is a small to medium-sized tree, growing up to 15 m tall. It is native to tropical and subtropical regions of India, Sri Lanka, southern China, Thailand, and Vietnam. It is found in evergreen and semi-evergreen forests, as well as in dry deciduous forests.
Uses & Benefits
Elaeocarpus rubidus is used as an ornamental plant in gardens and parks. It is also used for its timber, which is strong and durable. The leaves can be used as a natural dye and the fruits can be used to make a sweet syrup.
