Description
Hypolepis urbani (also called 'Urban's Fern' and 'Urban's Shield Fern', among many other common names) is a small, delicate fern native to Australia, New Zealand, and New Caledonia. It has a creeping rhizome and small, round, bright green fronds that are divided into many segments. It grows in moist, shady areas, often in woodlands and forests.

Hypolepis urbani has small, greenish-brown flowers that are clustered in the axils of the leaves. The seeds are small, black and glossy. The seedlings are small and delicate with long, narrow leaves.
