Description
Carex melanostachya (also called Black-spiked sedge, among many other common names) is a perennial sedge species native to North America. It is a tufted plant with long, narrow leaves and small, brownish-green flowers. It grows in wet meadows, marshes, and along streams and lakes in the eastern United States and southern Canada.
