Description
Carex favratii (also called Favrat's Sedge, among many other common names) is a perennial sedge native to Europe, Asia, and North America. It typically grows in moist, shady habitats, such as wet meadows, marshes, and stream banks. It has a tufted habit, and its leaves are long and narrow, with a sharp tip.
Cultivation and Propagation
Carex favratii is an evergreen perennial that can be propagated by division or by seed. It prefers a well-drained, nutrient-rich soil and plenty of light. The plant should be fertilized regularly with a liquid fertilizer and the water should be kept at a temperature of around 22-25°C. It is also important to provide plenty of oxygen to the plant, as it is an oxygenator. Propagation can be done by dividing the plant or by collecting the seeds and planting them in a substrate.
