Cyathea praeceps (also called Precep's Tree Fern, among many other common names) is a fern species native to tropical and subtropical regions of South America. It is an evergreen, terrestrial fern with a creeping rhizome and a frond that is pinnate-pinnatifid. It typically grows in moist, shady areas such as forests, woodlands, and along streams.

Cyathea praeceps has small, yellowish-green flowers that produce small, black seeds. The seedlings are small, dark green, and have a single, long, narrow leaf.
Where to Find Cyathea praeceps
Cyathea praeceps is native to the cloud forests of Japan. It can be found in the prefectures of Fukushima, Gunma, and Tochigi.
