Description

Alsophila insulana (also called 'Lemon-scented Tree Fern', among many other common names) is a species of tree fern native to the islands of New Caledonia, where it grows in humid forests. It has a slender trunk, reaching up to 2 m tall, and is covered with brown scales. The fronds are bi-pinnate, up to 2 m long, and have a lemon-like scent. The sori are covered with a false indusium.
