Description
Zehneria mucronata (also called 'Toothed Zehneria', among many other common names) is a shrub with a woody stem, and is native to Japan. It grows in moist forests, thickets, and grassy slopes, at elevations of 1,500-3,000 m.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
Zehneria mucronata has white flowers with five petals and a yellow center. The seeds are small, black, and round. The seedlings are thin and have long, narrow leaves.
Cultivation and Propagation
Zehneria mucronata is best propagated by seed. The seeds should be sown in a sterile, moist, well-drained medium. The medium should be kept moist and in a warm, humid environment until the seeds germinate. Once the seeds have germinated, the young plants should be transplanted into individual pots and grown in a warm, humid environment.
