Costus vargasii (also called Vargas' Spiral Ginger, among many other common names) is a perennial herb that is native to Central and South America. It grows in wet, tropical habitats such as rainforests and cloud forests. It has a basal rosette of leaves and a tall stem with spirally arranged leaves.
