Description
Merremia warderensis (also called Warder's Wood-Rose, among many other common names) is a species of flowering plant in the Convolvulaceae family. It is a perennial, twining vine with large, heart-shaped leaves and white flowers. It is native to the Caribbean, Central America, and South America, and it grows in tropical and subtropical forests, thickets, and disturbed areas.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
Merremia warderensis has small, yellow-green flowers with five petals. The seeds are small, black, and round. The seedlings have thin, light green stems and small, oval-shaped leaves.
Cultivation and Propagation
Merremia warderensis is a fast-growing, evergreen, perennial climber. It is best propagated through stem cuttings. The cuttings should be taken from the tip of the stem and rooted in moist soil. The plant should be kept in a warm, humid environment and watered regularly. Once the roots have developed, the plant can be transplanted into a larger pot or into the ground.
