Description

Helictonema velutina (also called Velvet Helictonema, among many other common names) is a species of plant in the Monimiaceae family. It is a small tree or shrub, reaching up to 8 m in height. It is native to the tropical forests of South America, from Colombia to northern Argentina, and is found in humid and sub-humid forests, from sea level to 1,500 m in altitude.
