Description

Gymnosporia cassinoides (also called Prickly Currant, among many other common names) is a shrub or small tree that can grow up to 8 m tall. It is native to eastern and southern Africa, and is found in woodlands, savannas, and grasslands. Its leaves are simple, alternate, and ovate to lanceolate in shape. Its flowers are small and white, and the fruits are round and red.
