Description
Siphocampylus schizandrus (also called 'Split-petal Cone Orchid', among many other common names) is a species of orchid native to Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Venezuela. It grows in wet montane forests at elevations of 800-2500 m. It is an epiphyte, characterized by its long, thin, pale green leaves and its yellow-green flowers.

The flower of Siphocampylus schizandrus is yellow, with a tubular shape and a short, curved spur. The seed is a small, black, oval-shaped capsule. The seedlings are small, with a single, oval-shaped leaf.
Cultivation and Propagation
Siphocampylus schizandrus is a terrestrial orchid that can be grown in well-drained soil in a partially shaded area. Propagation is done by division of the rhizomes. The plant can also be propagated from seed, although it is a slow process.
