Prismatocarpus hispidus (also called 'Rough Shield Fern' and 'Rough Crested Fern', among many other common names) is a species of fern native to tropical regions of Central and South America. It typically grows in moist, shady areas and is characterized by its fronds, which are divided into two parts, the lower part being more divided than the upper part. The fronds are usually dark green in colour and can reach up to 1.5 metres in length.
