Mancoa perennis (also called Perennial Mancoa, among many other common names) is a perennial herb up to 1 m tall, native to Colombia and Ecuador. It grows in wet montane forests, at elevations of 1,000–2,000 m.

Uses & Benefits

Mancoa perennis is used in traditional medicine to treat fever, headache, and stomachache. It is also used as a food flavoring and as a dye for fabrics.

Mancoa perennis has white flowers with yellow centers and small, black seeds. The seedlings are small and have two to three leaves.
