Description
Asplenium acutiserratum (also called Sharp-toothed Spleenwort, among many other common names) is a species of spleenwort in the family Aspleniaceae. It is native to the Americas, where it is found in the United States, Mexico, and Guatemala. It grows in moist, shady areas, such as coniferous forests, and is often found on rocks or logs.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
Asplenium acutiserratum has small, yellow-green flowers and produces small, round, black seeds. The seedlings have a single, long, pointed cotyledon and two small, round, green cotyledons.
Cultivation and Propagation
Asplenium acutiserratum can be propagated by division in spring or autumn. It prefers moist, humus-rich soil in partial shade. It is best grown in a sheltered site with some protection from cold winds.
