Description
Ophiopogon tonkinensis (also called Tonkin Lilyturf, among many other common names) is a perennial herb native to China. It has a woody stem, and grows up to 30 cm tall. Its leaves are simple, alternate, and lanceolate in shape, and its flowers are small, white, and fragrant. It is found in moist forests, meadows, and grasslands.

Cultivation and Propagation
Ophiopogon tonkinensis is best grown in partial shade, in moist but well-drained soil. It can be propagated by division of the clumps, or by seed. It is tolerant of a wide range of soils, and can be grown in containers.
