Uses & Benefits
Ilex ciliospinosa is used as an ornamental plant in gardens and parks. It is also used as a hedge plant and for erosion control. The leaves of this plant are used to make herbal tea and are also used in traditional Chinese medicine.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
Ilex ciliospinosa flowers are small, white and fragrant, with four petals. The seeds are small, black and glossy. The seedlings are slender and dark green in color.

Ilex ciliospinosa can be propagated by seed, cuttings, or layering. Seeds should be sown in a well-drained soil mix and kept moist. Cuttings should be taken from semi-ripe wood and rooted in a moist soil mix. Layering can be done by burying a low-hanging branch in the soil and allowing it to root.
