Description

Aponogeton distachyus (also called Water Hawthorn, among many other common names) is an aquatic plant that is native to Africa and Madagascar. It has a stem that grows up to 1 m tall and is covered with opposite, lanceolate leaves. It produces white flowers with five petals and yellowish-green stamens. It grows in ponds, streams, and other shallow bodies of water.
