Ferula parva (also called 'Small Giant Fennel', among many other common names) is a species of flowering plant in the carrot family. It is native to the Middle East and grows in dry grasslands and open woodlands. It has a large, erect stem and can grow up to 2m tall. The leaves are large and divided into many leaflets. The flowers are small and yellow and are clustered in umbels.

Ferula parva can be propagated by seed or division. Seeds should be sown in spring in a cold frame. When they are large enough to handle, prick the seedlings out into individual pots and grow them on in the greenhouse for at least their first winter. Division in spring. Larger divisions can be planted out direct into their permanent positions. We have found it best to pot up the smaller divisions and grow them on in light shade in a cold frame until they are established.
