Cultivation and Propagation

Ferula orbicularis can be propagated by seed or division. Seeds should be sown in spring in a cold frame. When they are large enough to handle, prick the seedlings out into individual pots and grow them on in the greenhouse for at least their first winter. Division in spring. Larger divisions can be planted out direct into their permanent positions. We have found it best to pot up the smaller divisions and grow them on in light shade in a cold frame until they are established.

Where to Find Ferula orbicularis

Ferula orbicularis is native to Central Asia, and can be found in the steppe and semi-desert areas of this region.
