Fresh produce markets in Krakow and Warsaw, Poland, showed stability in apple prices in the week ending April 29, 2025.
Retail offers among Krakow’s grocers were at least 3.77 euro ($4.29) a kg, with a maximum 4.19 euro ($4.77).
The 15 varieties available in Poland’s wholesale markets stabilised week-on-week at 0.54-0.63 euro ($0.61-0.72) a kg.
Golden Delicious and Gala started from 0.63 euro ($0.72) a kg, while local specialities fetched 1.20 euro ($1.37).
Regarding domestic Golden Delicious and the Galas, it is apparent that they reflect a general pricing stability trend in Europe. This is despite their production in the European Union dipping by between -10.1% and -11.1%, respectively, from 2023 to 2024, per Eurostat.
Continental Prices
While Europe averaged 97 euro ($110) per 100 kg in March 2025, similar to August 2024, Poland managed 71.5 euro ($81.36).
Ranged against Germany, Italy and France, Poland’s March 2025 price was the most accessible despite registering a 0.9% rise month-on-month.
This stability partially owes to shrinking acreage in Poland to 148,000 hectares (ha) in December 2024 from record 194,700 ha in 2012.
Production has been following the acreage downturn by receding from 4.495 million tonnes in 2022 to 3.19 million tonnes in 2024.
So, fresh apple prices in Poland are showing a steadiness that holds well with a production and area dip. To learn more about the country’s fabled apple industry, read on the following statistics.
