A new Polish record in winter barley yields

Barley was an early crop

News summary: Eventually reaping 11.268 tonnes per hectare of the Valhalla barley variety, a new barley farming partnership technology by PROCAM has managed to set a new yield record in Poland.

Under the supervision of the Record Office, on July 12, 2023, as part of the PROCAM Yielding Champions League in Stróżew, West Pomeranian Voivodeship, a new Polish Record in the “Largest winter barley yield per hectare” class was set at Krzysztof Krawiec’s Farm, harvesting 11.268 t/ha of the Valhalla winter barley variety.

Mr. Krzysztof sowed Valhalla barley, bred by Saaten-Union Poland, and together with PROCAM Advisor Michal Olejniczak, managed the barley with PROCAM technology, applying innovative products, i.e. RewitalPro+, AzotoPower, Improver, BaktoTarcza P from Bio-Lider and Bio-Gen, foliar fertilizers: Proleaf Max 4.0, Proleaf Makro P, NHCa Delta and full fungicide protection of the Green PAK Package.

Valhalla is a 2-row winter barley dedicated to customers who appreciate reliable varieties with excellent forage characteristics. Producers are sure to be impressed by its very high MTZ and the highest hectoliter weight in German trials. Characteristic for this variety is high resistance to rotting. A set of resistance genes BaYMV-1 and BaMMV, allowing protection against barley yellow mosaic disease, is not without influence on yield. This is certainly one of the most successful barleys currently offered on the Polish variety market.
