Vietnam trees: Relocating and cultivating more than 1,300 trees to make An Phu intersection

Authorities said that more than 1,300 Vietnamese trees on Mai Chi Tho Street, Thu Duc City will be uprooted and relocated for the construction of An Phu intersection. The investor promises to replant many trees and increase the green space to compensate.

Accordingly, nearly 1,100 trees were relocated and more than 200 trees were cut down. These trees belong to the varieties of eagle, mother-of-pearl, iron-limb, cedarwood, rambutan e.t.c., which have been planted for about 20 years.

The authorities said that after the trees are cut, they will be brought back to nurture at the nursery.

Talking to Tuoi Tre Online, Mr. Luong Minh Phuc, director of the Investment Project Management Board for the construction of traffic works in Ho Chi Minh City (the investor of the construction project at An Phu intersection), said the construction plan forced the moving of the trees.

In addition, two more overpasses will be built, including a Y-shaped overpass connecting Mai Chi Tho Street (on the side of Hanoi Highway) and Luong Dinh Cua Street with the Ho Chi Minh City-Long Thanh-Dau Giay Expressway. Along with that is an overpass that turns right from the Ho Chi Minh City-Long Thanh-Dau Giay highway to Mai Chi Tho street (on the Hanoi highway).

At the ground level, the central island and symbolic tower will be built with items such as lakes, fountains, and fine art lighting in accordance with the architectural design plan.

At the intersection of Mai Chi Tho and Dong Van Cong streets, two overpasses will be built connecting Mai Chi Tho street (on Hanoi highway) with Dong Van Cong street and vice versa. Build more bridges between 2 existing Giong Ong To bridges.

In addition, the items of small islands, pedestrian bridges, water supply and drainage systems, trees, lighting, traffic signal systems, etc., will be built synchronously.
