This is sex pheromone for managing the bactrocera dorsalis a fruit fly that includes bactrocera invadens, bactrocera curcubitae(melon fly), and bactrocera latifrons which are reported all over the world on a wide range of tropical fruits and vegetables such as guavas, mangoes, avocados, citrus, papaya, melons, tomatoes, etc.

It is used for the male's annihilation and it disrupts, attracts, and kills the male resulting in a decrease in the number of mates for the females and a decline over the year.
