Basil
À propos de ce/cette Basil
A classic Italian Genovese basil with a tidy compact habit. A superb container variety, Mammolo has been bred to have an exceptionally high leaf to stem ratio and a compact growth habit. The short internodes mean that plants are super bushy, free of undesirable leggy stems and a rangy.
Plants are super bushy, and leaves are large with a classic Italian basil aroma and flavor without the minty smell and flavor that some experience with Italian basils."
Like many culinary basils, it is a cultivar of Ocimum basilicum (sweet basil). The plant grows to approximately 18 inches tall, and produces large ruffled leaves with a jagged edge. Make sure your basil receives at least 6-8 hours of full sun daily.
Soil should be moderately fertile and moist but well-draining. Basil works great in containers or raised beds, as these allow for better drainage.
Basil likes to stay moist and requires approximately 1 inch of water every week. Water deeply at least once a week to keep roots growing deep and the soil moist. Basil growing in containers will need more frequent watering. Your goal when growing basil in a container is to keep the soil from drying out.
Feed your basil plants with a good organic fertilizer every four to six weeks for indoor plants and every 2-3 weeks for outdoor. A well-balanced fertilizer with equal amounts of nitrogen, potassium, and phosphate, will help to boost leaf production. MODERATELY SENSITIVE to SALT.
