Indian Farmers <\/u><\/a>took out a bullock cart march in Akola to agitate the removal of the condition of RBI\u2019s CIBIL score. They say that due to the implementation of this condition, about 90 percent of the agriculturalists of the area will not be able to get loans from the banks. Now the Maharashtra government has taken a big decision regarding this condition of RBI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RBI had put a condition of the CIBIL score to farmers seeking to apply for agricultural loans<\/u><\/a>. This decision was being continuously opposed by the farmers. They had demanded that the government remove the condition of mandatory CIBIL score of financial institutions as soon as possible. Now the Maharashtra government has taken a big decision on this. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has said that if the banks did not give credit to the farmers by putting the condition of CIBIL score, then FIR would be filed against them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Farmers took out bullock cart march in protest<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A few days back, farmers had taken out a bullock cart march in Akola to protest the condition of RBI\u2019s CIBIL score. They cited the implementation of this condition as closing the door on almost 90 percent of farmers of the area in need of loans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Action on giving financing to farmers on the basis of CIBIL score<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Devendra Fadnavis said that it has been decided in the State Bank Committee that the condition of CIBIL score cannot be kept for crop loans.<\/u><\/a> If the bank imposes a condition on the farmers for this, then an FIR will be filed against them. Along with this, he had called a meeting in Amravati for pre-planning the Kharif season (a rainy season generally beginning June through October). In this meeting, it has been decided to ensure that there is no shortage of seeds for sowing Kharif crops. If the crop gets ruined due to rain and sowing is needed again, even then arrangements for seeds will be made. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Banks should not put the grant received from the government in the loan account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In many areas of Amravati and Vidarbha, farmers get compensation money for crop failure. Banks have been instructed not to deposit the financial assistance given to the farmers by the state in their loan accounts. If banks are found doing so, action will be taken against them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rain water will be used for irrigation<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are many areas of Maharashtra, where  due to lack of rains, the local crops <\/u><\/a>get destroyed due to lack of irrigation water. Under the Jalyukt Shivar Yojana, it has been suggested to make such a system where rain water can be tapped and used for irrigation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Heavy loss to farmers due to unseasonal rains<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Devendra Fadnavis said that this year farmers have suffered losses due to unseasonal rains, storms and hailstorms. The government is compensating for this. The infrastructure of the power company has been damaged due to rain and storm and instructions have also been given to rectify it soon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
