<\/a>The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG), together with the Government, distributed agricultural packages for the benefit of more than half a million small producers from different areas of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every day, more farmers are benefiting from the delivery of the packages made by the Government. This year, the aid comes with added value including the distribution of more certified\u00a0corn seed<\/u><\/a>\u00a0and the dissemination of knowledge plans on Good Agricultural Practices to improve the farmers’ crops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the western area, in the\u00a0Jujutla winery<\/a><\/u> of Ahuachap\u00e1n, more than 2,000 agricultural packages were delivered, which\u00a0\u00a0will\u00a0support the economy and the livelihood of small producers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ana Gloria Vargas, the beneficiary of the delivery of the packages, assured that this help comes at an opportune time at the start of planting, because their lands are ready to cultivate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Since I found out about the delivery of the supplies, I began to prepare my land and we are just waiting for the start of the rain. I verify, once again, that it is worth what the Government is doing for us,” Ana Vargas said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Casa de la Mujer in the municipality of Izalco, Sonsonate, an average of 270 beneficiaries draw each day the agricultural inputs that they use to sow their cornfields. In the aforementioned municipality, about 4,200 agricultural packages will be distributed, also benefiting farmers from the native peoples.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, each agricultural package contains 25 pounds of certified corn seed, seed treatment, fertilizer and foliar fertilizer. The certified seed is more resistant to pests and drought.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In region \u2018I,\u2019 which includes the departments of Ahuachap\u00e1n, Sonsonate and Santa Ana, 100,000 producers of basic grains<\/u><\/a> will benefit. As of May 3, more than 12,000 packages had been delivered throughout the region. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
