Hazelnuts

Our Hazelnuts come from North Anatolia & Trabzon regions in Turkey. Turkey is regarded as the home of the Hazelnut. Traditionally raw Hazelnuts are often given as a gift at the start of harvesting. Ripe Hazelnuts fall from the trees and are then swept into rows, after which a harvester collects the nuts for processing. Steam pasteurization or roasting is used for raw nuts to sanitize the shells for commercial markets. 

Hazelnuts are nutrient dense, packed with fiber, protein, vitamins and antioxidants. Hazelnuts have many health benefits including lowering of cholesterol to stabilizing blood pressure and blood sugar.

Hazelnuts are a healthy snack option either raw or roasted. Culinary uses are as varied as the imagination allows from ice cream to baking to Hazelnut milk for lactose intolerance.
