About this SASITA Grade 1 Maize(corn) Flour

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF “SASITA” Grade 1 Maize Flour

“SASITA” Grade 1 maize flour is a white maize flour milled from dried maize kernels, that are ground to fine consistency (500 microns). Dry maize is mechanically cleaned, de-stoned, de-husked and ground into fine particles that are then sifted using a 0.5mm sieves.

The milling process involves various steps that ensures the quality of our products and safety of the consumers. The first steps of cleaning and destoning screen dust, stones and other foreign matters from maize kernels. Maize kernels are then conditioned using chlorinated water before undergoing the de-germination and de-husking process. Maize kernels are then transferred into millers and crushers where they are ground into fine flour. The flour is lastly double-sifted and transported to weighing and packaging machine. “SASITA” Grade 1 Maize Flour can be used to make ugali and prepare porridge for breakfast. It can also be used as an ingredient in baking.
