About this Fresh Winter Thyme (Premium)

Botanical name: Thymus vulgaris.

Origin: Kenya (grown in the high-altitude region of Kiambu)

Product characteristics:

Kenyan thyme has little, delicate leaves measuring 3-6 mm long. The leaves are a vivid grey-green on top, with pale undersides, and are linked to thin, woody stalks. Each bunch is hand-trimmed to maintain leaf integrity.

Kenyan thyme is known for its powerful, earthy scent and somewhat minty, peppery flavour with delicate citrus undertones. The high-altitude temperature increases the essential oil content, giving it greater pungency and depth than lower-altitude types.

We provide both fresh (bundled) and air-dried or dehydrated options to preserve natural flavour and colour.
