About this Ginger

Ginger is grown and harvesting from a farm in Guys Hill St Catherine a parish in the middle of Jamaica. It is harvested and transported to a packaging house where it is washed and dried. The next day it is transported to the courier for export transportation.

Ginger is the dried knobby shaped rhizome of the plant which is grown underground. Ginger is classified as a rhizome (underground stem), which is primarily used in the food and pharmaceutical industries. The rhizome contains up to 64% starch with essential oils and fats, and a little sugar. Ginger will be placed in a carton boxes and will be shipped on that day or the following. Shipping time is schedule to reach four to five business days from departure.

Fresh ginger is brown on the outside and slightly yellow on the inside. Within a cool environment the freshness can last for several days to weeks. Its season is all year round.
