Cherry is appreciated for its high and healing qualities. Its main advantage is early and simultaneous ripening of fruits.
Fruits of sweet cherries are used fresh and freezed, high-quality compotes, jam, and also dried fruits are prepared from them. Varieties with a dense consistency of pulp (bi-tarro group) are quite transportable and can be delivered to any countries in fresh form.
The fresh fruit of sweet cherries grown in Uzbekistan contains a rather high percentage (from 10 to 20) of sugar at a high (from 15 to 24) dry matter content. The content of titrated acid is low - 0.36-1.0%. The main part of sugars falls on glucose and fructose, the percentage of sucrose in most cases is low - from 0 to 2.36.
In Uzbekistan, the main cherry plantations are concentrated in Andijan, Ferghana, Namangan, Samarkand and Tashkent regions, a little in Bukhara, Surkhandarya, Kashkadarya regions.
